QS, one of the world's leading ranking organizations, has announced the 2025 World Sustainability Rankings. Using a specialized methodology developed to measure universities’ capacity to tackle environmental, social, and governance issues, the studies of 1,744 universities worldwide in these fields are analyzed by the institution. Ankara University achieved a significant milestone in the 2025 QS World Universities Sustainability Rankings, rising from the 941–960 range to 486th place. Vice Rector and Dean of Research of Ankara University, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, visited Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Deep Space, Artificial Intelligence, and Aviation Laboratories, which is a pioneer in China’s Moon and Mars missions, and examined the studies on-site. Within the scope of the visit, detailed information was obtained about projects related to China's Moon and Mars missions and the innovative applications of artificial intelligence in these areas. With the collaboration of Ankara University’s Institutional Data Coordinatorship, a meeting on data coordination was held on November 26, 2024, with the participation of Research Information System (AVESİS) system officer Expert Burak Sarıca. The main items on the agenda included data collection methods, the current methodology of AVESİS, and recommendations for improving these processes. Prof. Dr. Sibel Ayşıl Özkan, Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy Faculty Member, has been awarded the 2024 TÜSEB Special Award for her scientific contributions in the development of electrochemical nanobiosensors, microchip design, drug delivery systems, and molecularly imprinted polymer technologies. The third Workshop of the Offices of the Dean of Research was held on October 13, 2024, hosted by Düzce University. Vice Rector and Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, Vice Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Aytuğ Okumuş, Vice Dean of Research, Prof.Dr. Ebru Onbaşılar, and Resarch Projects Coordinator, Lect. Özge Nur Toprak, participated in the workshop. Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan gave a presentation on the activities of the Office of the Dean of Research. The workshop concluded with an exchange of ideas and a reporting process following the presentation by the participants.

The results of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2024 Field-Based Rankings have been announced. While Ankara University was listed in 2023 in the 201-300 band for Dentistry and the 301-400 band for Physics, the university expanded its achievements in 2024 by ranking in two additional fields, increasing the total number of ranked fields to four. According to the results of the 2024 field-based rankings, Ankara University placed in the 201-300 band for Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, the 301-400 band for Agriculture, and the 401-500 band for Physics.
