Turkey’s first beamline abroad, SESAME TXPES Beamline, established with the support of the TARLA (Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory) infrastructure, was inaugurated at a ceremony held in Jordan.

The opening ceremony which has critical importance to our country and our university, was attended online by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, while our Vice Rector and Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, represented our university in person in Jordan.

During the opening ceremony, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, who conducted technical inspections at the facility, assessed the contributions that the new beamline will make our university’s research capacity. Prof. Dr. Orhan emphasized that the line offers MEDİTAM researchers a unique testing and analysis enviroment, particularly in the areas of implant surfaces, dental biomaterials and biosinergy analyses.

This initiative which aims to provide our university with strategic academic superiority through studies like Strategic Superiority and International Impact, advanced surface chemistry and tissue interactions, represents a powerful move that will enhance Ankara University’s impact in the international research infrastructure.

In order for our researchers to make the most efficient use of this powerful infrastructure, it was announced that a “Special Call for Projects” will be made in the relevant field in the coming period.
