Organized under the Dean’s Office of Research, the first “Scientific Article Writing Camp” was held between March 10 and 17, 2024, at Ankara University Ilgaz ÖRSEM Facilities. The “Interactive Coffee Day Interdisciplinary Studies Under One Roof – 5” Event Was Held on February 28, 2024, hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy within our Office Of The Dean Of Research. The event started with the opening speeches that emphasized the importance of national, international, and industrial associations in interdisciplinary studies. The first meeting of the Dean’s Office of Research Board of Management was held on February 26, 2024 with the attendance of the Board Members. The meeting was held under Prof. Dr. H. Serdar ÖZTÜRK’s directorship. After Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan,’s opening speech and the discussion made on the Dean’s Office of Research activity presentation, the activity plan for the next term was designated.

With Faculty of Language, History, and Geography as host, on February 26, 2024 “Artificial Intelligence in Social Sciences Workshop” was held. At the Congress, researchers from various fields presented their oral presentations. The Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kaan ORHAN made a presentation on NATO’s “The Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Program”. During the presentation, information was given on the application-evaluation process, NATO’s funding methods, and NATO’s internship opportunities.

With Faculty of Dentistry as host, between 22-24 February 2024 “2nd International Dentistry Education Congress” was held. At the Congress, apart from conferences, panels, and oral presentations feedback, of students and fresh graduates was discussed. At the Congress, Vice-Dean of Research and Academic Member of Faculty of Educational Sciences Prof. Dr. Şakir ÇINKIR made a presentation on “Management of Education at Undergraduate Level”

The first meeting of the Management of Research Projects Support Office was held on 22.04.2024 with the members participating. The meeting starts with Research Dean Prof. Kaan ORHAN’s speech. Lecturer Özge Nur KANAT made a presentation on the activities of the Project Support Office and a presentation on TÜBİTAK 2232-A and B. After consultation with our members, the action plan for the coming period was determined.

According to the results of TUBITAK 1001 - Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program 2023, Ankara University's 30 research projects were supported, making it the second university with the most projects supported among universities in Turkey. We congratulate all our academicians, especially the academicians of our Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Agriculture, who received the most supported with six projects.

The first “Ankara University Awards Ceremony” held by the Rector’s Office took place at ATO Congressium on January 30, 2024. At the ceremony, the Director of COHE, Erol ÖZVAR, the Rectors of Universities, and the representatives of the Public-Private Sectors and media institutions attended. According to the list made in accordance with the Academic Performance Assessment System APSİS, the Dean of the Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry and the Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kaan ORHAN, received award in the category of Medical Sciences. On January 18, 2024, a collaborative meeting was held between the Research Deanery of our university and the TEKNOFEST and Competitions Coordination. The meeting, attended by members of the Ankara University Research Deanery and the Coordinator of TEKNOFEST and Competitions, Prof. Dr. Şebnem BUDAK, addressed the common areas of collaboration between the two units and discussed future collaborative activities.
