One of the leading ranking institutions, Times Higher Education (THE), has announced the 2024 Asian Universities rankings.
Times Higher Education (THE) evaluates the institutions, research based universities, based on performance indicators that are categorized into five fields, namely, research environment, research quality, international visage, and industry. According to the 2024 ranking results of the evaluating institution, which evaluates Asian Universities with performance indicators that rose from 13 to 18, Ankara University is ranked between 501-600. According to QS 2024 World Universities field based rankings, our country was ranked with 39 fields in a total of 55 fields, and Ankara University was ranked with 9 fields. Divinity and Agriculture/Forestry, being within the range of 51-100 and 201-250, respectively, showed the best performances. Under the Dean’s Office of Research, an online meeting was held with the Times Higher Education (THE) on March 28, 2024. To the meeting held under the supervision of the Dean of Research Prof. Dr. Kaan ORHAN, THE Cooperation, Participance, and Events Director Charlotte COLES, Ankara University European Union Educational Programs Institutional Coordinator Assist. According to the SCIMAGO 2024 index, Ankara University obtained the highest ranking since 2009. Ankara University, while being 3248th in the World and 5th in Türkiye in 2023, in 2024 became 1978th in the World and 3rd in Türkiye. In the field-based World Ranking, Anthropology with 26th place and 1st place in Türkiye, Divinity with 234th place and 3rd place in Türkiye, Dentistry with 281st and 3rd place in Türkiye and Veterinary Medicine with 395th place and 3rd place in Türkiye showed the best performances. Organized under the Dean’s Office of Research, the first “Scientific Article Writing Camp” was held between March 10 and 17, 2024, at Ankara University Ilgaz ÖRSEM Facilities. During the seven-day camp, scientific writing sample studies were made and edited in company of mentors the delivery of the scientific publications to the journals with high impact value was ensured.
