The opening of the Graduate Orientation Program for the 2024-2025 Academic Year, organized by the Orientation Coordinatorship and the Office of the Dean of Students, was held on 20 September 2024. The 2023 list of scientists, compiled by Stanford University academic John P.A. Ioannidis and other researchers, which ranks scientists based on their greatest impact, was published by Elsevier. In the ranking that was published under two categories, “Career-long impact” and “yearly impact”, taking the indicators like the number of qualified publications, citations, h-index, c-score into consideration, in 2023 Career-Long Impact Category 16 Academics of 6 different Faculties of Ankara University were listed. We congratulate our Academics, wishing them ongoing success in the future.

According to scientific evaluations of 1001 project proposals made to Research Support Programs Directorate on the 1st term of 2024: Ankara University with 18 out of 355 total supported projects has the second most projects in Türkiye among 103 institutions. Ankara University with 13 out of total 269 projects which were supported directly has the second most among 891 institutions, and with 5 out of total 86 projects which were supported without waiting the next term Ankara University has the fifth most among 51 institutions. Online meeting regarding the event “Global Sustainable Meeting”, which will be held by the Times Higher Education (THE) in 2025, was held with the participation of Vice Rector and Dean of Research Prof. Dr. Kaan ORHAN, European Union Educational Programs Institutional Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Cafer YILDIRIM, and THE Organizational Director Lachyn ITALMAZOVA on August 30, 2024. In the meeting, discussions were made regarding the meeting, which will be held next year in Türkiye, creating an agenda on organizational cooperation.

Turkey’s first and only aviation, space, and technology festival, TEKNOFEST, was held in Adana this year. This year, four teams of Ankara University reached the finals at TEKNOFEST, where students participated with various projects. The “ANKÜ-CAN” team, established within the Institute of Nuclear Sciences, competed in the nuclear instrumentation and control system category of the Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Contest, which was held for the first time this year.
