The Office of the Dean of Research at Ankara University has launched the “From Data to Action: Faculty Dialogue Series” to evaluate the research performance of academic units through data-driven analyses and to identify strategic areas for development.
Within the scope of the series, the strengths and areas for improvement of each academic unit are assessed. The process is conducted in line with the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle, a widely adopted quality assurance approach in higher education.
The initial meetings were held with the Faculties of Dentistry and Medicine
Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar attended the meetings to observe the ongoing efforts of the Office of the Dean of Research on site.
The meeting with the Faculty of Medicine was held with the participation of Dean Prof. Dr. Zehra Aycan and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Neriman Defne Altıntaş. During the session, key research performance indicators of the faculty were evaluated in detail, and potential future collaborations were discussed.
The meeting with the Faculty of Dentistry was conducted with Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Tuğba Bezgin. Based on the analytical findings, research indicators requiring improvement were identified, and a cooperation plan was developed to enhance the faculty’s research capacity.
Prof. Dr. Özlem Türkşen, Chair of the Department of Operations Research in the Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics, also contributed to the process with data analysis and statistics-based evaluations.
Faculty administrators expressed their appreciation for this initiative prepared by the Office of the Dean of Research and affirmed their support for strengthening the university’s overall research capacity.
