Coordinated by the Office of the Dean of Research at Ankara University, the meeting titled “Digital Data Sources and Data Analysis Methods” was held on 9 April 2025.

Hosted by Vice Deans of Research Prof. Dr. Esin Ebru Onbaşılar and Prof. Dr. Aytuğ Okumuş, the meeting was attended by personnel from the Office of the Dean of Research.

Invited speakers included Prof. Dr. Özlem Türkşen, Head of the Department of Operations Research in the Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics, and Prof. Dr. Okan Ekim, Coordinator for Societal Impact.

Prof. Dr. Özlem Türkşen shared insights into the “Data Preprocessing Phase,” a critical step in data analysis, and discussed statistical methods used to resolve common issues encountered in this process.

Prof. Dr. Okan Ekim presented examples of studies conducted using digital data sources under the coordination of the Societal Impact Office and shared his experiences on how to utilise these sources effectively in research processes. Additionally,  a discussion was conducted on potential risks in practice, data reliability, and sustainable access.
