Ankara University, which maintains constant collaboration with other institutions and organizations, shared its knowledge and experiences at the meeting held at Akdeniz University. Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, and the delegations from both universities attended the meeting hosted by Akdeniz University.

In his opening speech at the meeting, held in the Akdeniz University Senate Hall, Rector Ünüvar emphasized that universities, in addition to their missions in education, research, and societal contribution, also contribute to their countries in promoting, developing, and fostering the nation’s prosperity. Noting that off-campus education contributes to the prosperity of communities, Rector Ünüvar said, “If the knowledge produced is not commercialized and does not contribute to humanity, it is knowledge that is dormant and just words.” Emphasizing the fact that Ankara University has achieved significant success in every discipline among the research universities, which started with 10 universities in 2017 and now include 23 universities, Ünüvar reminded the audience that Ankara University has made remarkable progress in the past two years, rising from 13th to 9th place among research universities.

Explaining the work undertaken by Ankara University as a research university, Rector Ünüvar stated that significant progress has been made in data storage and analysis. Noting that innovations have been made in many fields, the existing structure is constantly being updated, and success has followed as a result, Rector Ünüvar emphasized the importance of collaboration and information sharing among institutions, underlining their significant contributions to the development of the country.

Following the opening speeches, Vice Rector and Dean of Research Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan gave a presentation titled “The Activities of the Ankara University Office of the Dean of Research.” Research Projects Support Office Coordinator, Lecturer Özge Nur Toprak, gave a presentation titled “What Does the Ankara University Project Support Office Coordination Do?” Vice Dean of Research Prof. Dr. E. Ebru Onbaşılar discussed “Analyses Conducted by the Office of the Dean of Research and Their Contribution to Strategy Development.” Lecturer Gamze Yılmaz from the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordination Office gave the presentation titled “BRIDGE Software and Performance Analysis of Ankara University-Affiliated Publications.” Technology Transfer Office Coordinator and Vice Dean of Research Aytuğ Okumuş delivered a presentation on “What are the Supports provided by the Ankara University Technology Transfer Office Coordination?” Prof. Dr. Necmettin Ünal, Scientific Research Projects Coordinator, presented “Project Processes of the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Office.” Lastly, Dr. Lecturer Sevgi Ernas from the Faculty of Educational Sciences gave a presentation titled “Workshops at Ankara University.”

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session where participants’ questions were answered following the presentations.
